Around the World Challenge
Reading Challenge 2022
With many people still limiting travel, let books take you away! The 2022 Reading Challenge at the Colby Community Library will allow you to “Travel Around the World” in the comfort of your home.
Below are the guidelines for the Passport to verify your reading “travels.”
- Books do not need to be travel guides or geography books about a specific country. Read what you like to read!
- Books just need to mention or infer* a country in the book.
***If a book states that a character is flying to London, you may infer they are traveling to the country of England and use England as a country. Or if they talk about growing up in Paris, you may use France as a country.
- If there are multiple countries in a book, choose ONE* only.
***You may have several passports going at once to use different countries, but you may only use each book ONE TIME for the year—the same book may NOT be used on multiple cards even if it mentions more than one country!!!
- Write the title of the book on a numbered line on the left side of your passport.
- On the corresponding numbered “stamp” on the right side, write the country you are using for that book.
- Ten (10) different countries on a passport puts you in the drawing at year’s end for prizes. Turn in all passports by December 29, 2022.
- Books MUST be checked out from the Colby Community Library to be eligible.
Have fun reading as you “Travel Around the World.”
